Frequently Asked Questions

Reactable Purchase

Can I buy a reactable and how much does it cost?

We are currently manufacturing a version of the Reactable for institutional customers on-demand. The Reactable Experience is very robust and heavy and is built to withstand the exposure to hundreds of daily users. Its software focuses on the collaborative aspects of the Reactable. We produce, install and support this version for each customer, therefore the Reactable Experience is not a product you can simply buy in a shop. We are already taking orders from customers, such as museums, clubs or educational institutions who should get in touch with us via our contact form.

Are you going to release other versions of the Reactable?

We are working feverishly on an industrial version of the Reactable which will suit the needs of musicians, DJ’s and studios. This version will be lighter and easier to transport and setup. Its software will be user configurable, in order to fit different music and performance styles. We don’t have a release date yet, but if you want to be up to date with the development process you can subscribe to our newsletter.

Reactable Software

Will you continue to publish reacTIVision under an open source license?

Reactable Systems in one of the leading innovators within the growing multi-touch and tangible interface community. In addition to our own open source multi-touch marker tracking software reacTIVision, the TUIO protocol and our TUIO SDK are base for many other commercial, academic and hobbyist projects. Our company is strongly committed to the spirit of open source software and will continue to actively develop the tracking software, protocol and client implementations under the GPL license.

Do you offer commercial support for your software?

We are also planning to provide our software suite under an alternative license model for those clients who prefer to develop closed source projects based on our reacTIVision or TUIO suite. We are currently preparing an extended SDK, example projects and basic support for one development unit plus a flexible per-unit license model.
